Sting wants to legalise marihuana
On his blog, the Police-frontman (58) says marihuana should be legalized. He points a finger at the United States, who in his opinion should use all the money they now spend on detaining pot smokers, to deal with issues such as poverty and climate change.
Sting said: "The War on Drugs has failed - but it's worse than that, it is actively harming our society.” Instead of ridding society of criminals, “Violent crime is thriving in the shadows to which the drug trade has been consigned.”
All this money and efforts should be invested in other people since, "People who genuinely need help can't get it. Neither can people who need medical marijuana to treat terrible diseases.”

A DARE spokesman, an organisation teaching children at school about the dangers of drug use wrote that he should “better keep to singing instead of meddling with business he doesn’t know a thing about. We don’t need pop stars making such irresponsible statements.”
